I made it through one week of daycare! I had Mom here at the beginning of the week and Mace has been here the later part of the week. I did try to do most things by myself for the majority of the week; however, I can definitely tell I am not 100 percent but I guess that is to be expected. Daycare takes alot of energy and with me not being at normal speed it has just wore me out in the evenings! All of the kids were so excited to be back and be in a routine. I did miss them all and it is good to be in a more normal routine. You know me...I live for routines and organization!
I do go to the doctor on Monday for a postpartum follow up appointment. I am hoping that he releases me to do more light duty chores and tasks. I think he will and then allow me to do a little more as I get stronger.

Getting Back to Reality
Tomorrow is my first day back to my daycare world. I am ready for a more normal routine. I wish I had a little more time off but at least I am able to stay at home with my kids and not have to go to work everyday. I love being able to stay at home and be a constant presence in my children's lives. I would like everyone to pray for me as I transition back into my daycare world and for my recovery as well. I am much stronger which makes it hard not to do things that I know needs to be done; however, I know that I am still in recovery mode and need to treat my body like it is there still. My mom is going to be coming and helping me out for the first few days this week and Mace will be here at the end of the week since I am still not able to drive or lift. Daycare requires lifting! My normal daily life requires lifting...lifting of the twins in and out of the cribs and booster seats. So I know that I still need a little help. I will update blog tomorrow after the first day back in the "Real World."

Katie's Growing!
Overnight, Katie's naval cord fall off. I am so excited about being able to give her a bath. It is the simple things, isnt it?
She will be three weeks old tomorrow! I just can not believe she is has been our lives for three weeks already.
I look at her and then look at the twins and it amazes me that how much they have grew and develop in their short little lifetime.
The saying.. Time flies, sure is ringing true for me!

Luke and Tanner 18 Month Check Up
Mace took the twins to the doctor today for their 18 month check up and we are happy to announce that they are VERY HEALTHY AND VERY ACTIVE 18 month old boys!!!!!
Luke weights 25 pounds and measures 34 inches!
Tanner weighs 25 pounds and measures 33 inches!
WOW! It is hard to believe that just a few short 18 months ago that they were only 5 pounds a piece! Now they are walking, running, climbing, talking, and doing almost everything that they put their minds to. They each can say about 8-10 words and are very curious about everything. They favorite activities include coloring, climbing, dancing, and playing. Some of their favorite toys are musical toys, phones, remotes, mini-laptops (thanks to Mace!) cars, and play dishes. They LOVE to pretend like they are cooking and eating! They also REALLY like the electronic things like the phones, laptops, and remotes. It is amazing how much they mimic the daily activities that Mace and I do around the house. I just can not believe how much they have grown and how smart they are. It is truly amazing!

Are We in Kansas?
We managed to survive the storms and tornadoes last night... Thank Goodness.
Several of my friends had power outages and storm damage but everyone was safe and unharmed.
Sumner County has definitely had their fair share of storms and tornadoes over the last three years! I hope that this is the last one for a long time for our county.

Good News for Katie
Mace and I took Katie to the doctor today for her two week check up and weight check. We are happy to report that Katie received an excellent report. She has gained to her birth weight 7 pounds and four ounces and she is doing GREAT. Everything is completely perfect. Praise God!

Recovering and Adjusting
This is the second week and we are still adjusting and recovering. I am still slow moving and still a little sore but overall doing great! We are enjoying being a family of six. I can not believe that Katie is almost two weeks old. Time flies by when you are having fun.
Katie seems to be a VERY HAPPY baby. She is on a pretty solid schedule (you know me). She is eating two ounces every three hours and is only waking up once at night to feed. She is going to bed around 9:30 p.m. and generally wakes about 2:30 a.m. to eat. After that feeding, she sleeps until 7 a.m.! She is doing great and is very content. As you can imagine there is enough action to keep her entertained throughout the day especially since she has three older brothers running around the house!

Katie's First Doctor's Appointment
Katie went today for her first doctor's appointment. She received a clean bill of health and weighed in at 6 pounds 9 ounces. The doctor is wanting to see her again on 2/6 for a two week check up and weight check since she is not gaining weight. We are so blessed to have a healthy and beautiful daughter!
Welcome Home
On Saturday January 26, we were discharged from the hospital and were able to come home. It feels great to be at home and to have Katie here as well. Everyone is adjusting well. Logan is a BIG help and loves his sister very much. He loves holding her and watching her. We can already tell that he is going to be very protective of her, which is a good thing! Luke and Tanner give her about one hundred kisses a day and are very interested in her and watching her every move. They are doing great and have adjusted very well to her being the new addition to our family.
Home At Last!
